Cheap flights are here to stay, and the airlines are trying to keep their seats cheap.
They are offering domestic travel passes for less than $100 per person per seat.
The airline alliance is offering cheap domestic flights, too.
The airline alliance, founded in 2010 by Delta, American and United, said on Monday that it would offer discounted fares to airlines that fly less than one-quarter of the distance between their home airports.
The alliance, which is headquartered in Atlanta, Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit, Miami, New York, Phoenix and San Francisco, aims to attract travelers to its member cities and their airports.
Cheap fares will be available from Delta, United, United and American.
Cheap tickets will be valid for travel to and from participating airports on March 20 and 21, the airlines said.
Cheap flights also will be offered at least one month in advance.
“We are committed to providing affordable fares to our customers and the travel community, but at the same time we recognize that it is possible to fly for less money,” said David Giese, president and CEO of the alliance.
“We are providing the opportunity for people to do so, while at the very same time helping to build a better economy for the United States.”
The alliance, a partnership of Delta, the United and United Express, operates a total of 17 domestic routes, including two direct flights from Atlanta to New York.
A third domestic route, to Boston, is scheduled to start service in January 2018.
“The low cost of flying is a big factor in keeping people out of the airport,” Gieso said.
We have also developed a discounted domestic fare program for customers who fly on our partners flights to and through our partner cities, such as Minneapolis, Dallas and Los Angeles.””
The low-cost carrier passes are one way we are trying do that.

Passes are valid for domestic flights to participating destinations on March 18 and 20,” he said.
Passes can be purchased online at the alliance’s website or by calling 1-877-444-4433.
