The Eurostar ticketing service, which has been plagued by technical problems for weeks, is in trouble after its operator failed to meet a demand to suspend its service.
The operator said it would suspend its operation for 24 hours at the end of Tuesday night.
The problem is not limited to Eurostar, with other companies having to suspend their services as well.
The service will continue until Wednesday.
The Italian transport ministry said that Eurostar had not been able to meet the company’s demand for a 24-hour suspension, and that the operator would suspend operations from Thursday until the end in a bid to fix the problems.
It is unclear how long the operator will have to operate.
Eurostar said on its website that it was trying to resolve the issues.
